Alpha 4 arrives September 17
The Alpha playtest comes back online in September, and this time it runs an extra day.
Here’s the schedule:
- Start: Thursday, September 17 at 10 AM PT
- End: Monday, September 21 at 10 AM PT
Everyone who played in the previous Alpha is automatically welcomed back when the servers go live, and we’ll be inviting more new players from the Steam signup list.
We’re excited to share new content and features that we’ve worked on since the last Alpha. Here are a few of the highlights (with more in progress):
- New stronghold: Rattlesnake Junction
- Many new cosmetic customization options for clothing, furniture and tents
- Whole stretches of coastline rebuilt (Big Sur, Monterey and Mendocino)
- The start of some of our endgame systems
- Sangre Élite now invade and occupy Strongholds throughout the map, including lower tiers
- Item quality: improved items available at end game
- Added new legendary and rare items for players to find
- Improved PvP World Events
- In addition to appearing in PvP Subzones, the Outlaw Strongbox and Contraband Cache events can also “take over” any Tier 2+ Stronghold for a short period of time (with plenty of warning, don’t worry)
- New art and VFX for destroyed outposts
- Enemies now occupy abandoned mines and Stronghold Mines
- Improved graphical fidelity on many materials (added Terrain Displacement)
- Build Mode improvements (note: this is still temp UI and will continue to be improved)
- Player Ping system for you and your teammates (note: the UI is currently temp)
- Many new Player Challenges
- Weather updates
- Mining Improvements
- Improved climbing, especially on ladders

We also have some other surprises in store.
As always, thank you for your patience and support. We’re a small team and we only really get one shot at this, so we’d rather take the time and get it right. The community support has meant the world to us.
If you haven’t already, head over to our Steam page to Wishlist and sign up for future playtests, and come hang out with us on Discord, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
See you in California.
